About Jake

Jake has worked in higher education since 2002 as an instructor, career advisor and administrator. He is currently Senior Assistant Director of Graduate Student Career Services at MIT. He received the MIT Infinite Mile Award for Innovation and Creativity for developing and facilitating improv workshops to help with training and professional development.

He is a graduate of the Improv Asylum Training Center in the North End of Boston. With the last name "Livengood," this career path is quite fitting. He has a PhD in Higher Education Leadership, thereby making him Dr. Livengood. (But please call him Jake). His mental health counseling background is also beneficial in helping others feel comfortable and stepping out of their comfort zones during workshops and individual advising.
